Italian envoy vows to support business community

KARACHI: Italian Trade Commission in Pakistan would extend maximum support to the business community of Pakistan especially in the field of Italian textile, latest technologies other sectors.

Dr Gianluca Robagotti, Italian Consul to Pakistan informed that more than 30 leading Italian textile and leather machinery manufacturers will participate in the International Garments, Textile and Leather Machinery and Accessories (IGATEX 2017), being held at Expo Centre in Karachi from April 26-29.
 
Participation of 500 local and international exhibitors from over 30 countries is expected in Pakistan's biggest textile expo.
 
Trade ties between Pakistan and Italy in the prolific textile sector is to be further strengthened by participation of Italian firms in the event. He assured that every query of Pakistani business community at the Italian Trade Commission would be thoroughly looked into and a comprehensive response would be provided to build direct relations with Italian counterparts.
 
Robagotti said, "Such a large Italian presence makes IGATEX 2017 an appealing meeting point for Pakistani textile industrialists and operators." Italian Trade Commission, now embodied in the Consulate of Italy in Karachi, is the government agency entrusted with the promotion of trade, business opportunities and industrial cooperation between Italian and foreign companies.
 
He revealed that Italian Ambassador to Pakistan Stefano Potecorvo would be in Karachi to attend the fair and related events, including a meeting with the press and electronic media on Friday 28, after the technical seminar organised by event managers.
 
"Italian market share on the world exports of textile machinery is about 11 percent. According to the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers (ACIMIT), creativity, sustainable technology, reliability and quality are the characteristics which have made Italy a leader in the manufacturing of textile machinery. There are approximately 300 companies who produce textile machines and related accessories, for a total of about 12,000 employees, said Dr Robagotti.
